US bike and e-scooter rental company expands in Germany

Düsseldorf – The global commercial real estate firm Avison Young has brokered around 3,100 sqm of logistics space for US bike and e-scooter rental company Lime in Langenfeld near Düsseldorf. The space at Max-Planck-Ring 26 will serve Lime as a new base for its expansion across Germany. Owner of the property is Fair Value REIT AG, a subsidiary of DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate AG.

The two-story building is located in an industrial park with tenants from various sectors and comprises around 11,000 sqm of GLA in two units. Approximately 6,000 sqm are set aside for logistics, the rest for office use. Lime will utilise its space for the storage and maintenance of bikes and e-scooters.

Johann Mikhof, Director Office Leasing at Avison Young in Düsseldorf, says: "Lime was looking for a new location between its two target markets Düsseldorf and Cologne, and Langenfeld is located in exactly that sweet spot. With the property at Max-Planck-Ring, we were therefore able to provide our client with the optimal solution.”

The property is well connected. Cologne can be reached via motorway A3 with a junction close to the site and Düsseldorf via motorway A59.
