New headquarters for Lieferando in Berlin

Avison Young brokers lease for 18,000 sqm

Berlin – Lieferando moves onto Cuvry Campus in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The international commercial real estate services firm Avison Young has brokered a lease for 18,000 sq.m. of office space at the site on the corner of Cuvrystrasse/Schlesische Strasse for yd.yourdelivery GmbH, which runs the online food delivery service. A new six-building office complex with total rental space of around 38,000 sq.m. is currently under construction on the site as part of the Mediaspree area. yd.yourdelivery has signed a long-term lease for a total of three of the six buildings for Lieferando. The space will be handed over to the tenant after the completion of the complex, which is expected at the end of 2020.

Lieferando needs the new space as a result of its substantial growth. The online platform belongs to the Dutch group Takeaway.com. At the start of the year, the company purchased Delivery Hero’s German business, doubling its workforce. Jörg Gerbig, Managing Director of yd.yourdelivery, says: “We wanted a central location for all Lieferando employees and looked at various options. Cuvry Campus was the best fit for our corporate culture. It is important to us that we can offer our employees a modern working environment in a location with excellent transport links and a vibrant neighbourhood. This is precisely what Cuvry Campus promises.”

The office complex directly on the bank of the River Spree, with its yellow clinker-brick façade in the style of an industrial loft, fits in harmoniously with the surrounding historical brick-and-beam commercial sites, which are particularly popular among young creatives. The V-shaped arrangement of the buildings around a green courtyard, the long terraces on the upper floors and the riverside location make the complex even more inviting.
